What: Inspired by our upcoming 2026 Fall/Winter “Art Beyond the Gallery” exhibition Hard & Soft Desire;join us for this life drawing workshop where we will be working with various forms of charcoal based materials and learning/ practicing different methods of approach to creating a dynamic black and white work of art. As well as how to engage various methods and tools to build up your works of art with the medium of charcoal.

Materials: We will be providing a variety of materials to draw with. Powdered charcoal, Compressed Charcoal sticks, Vine charcoal sticks, charcoal pencils of varying hardness, kneaded erasers, and a variety of mediums to experiment with.These items will be limited and need to be shared.

What to Bring: Good quality paper/ drawing pad to draw on, erasers, sharpeners/sharpening utensils, and any charcoal materials listed above you may have that you'd like to use.

About Three Hearts Club: Juan (he/him) is a local Arizona artist working primarily with watercolors and charcoals. Along with other materials to create his works on paper. Juan has been a collaborator with thems. for years helping with artist workshops and now the “Art Beyond the Gallery” series of exhibitions.

Tickets: $35 - All money goes towards paying queer artists in our community.

Parking: Parking available on the street and in the lot off of 24th Pl. across from the building.
