Voices on Paper: A Personal History Workshop
Class Description: Voices on Paper is a free community workshop focused on storytelling, memory, and personal history. No experience is needed. Through guided writing prompts and conversation, participants will document and share their own oral histories, drawing inspiration from family photographs, archives, memorabilia, and lived experiences. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute their stories to a collaborative community artist book that celebrates the voices, memories, and histories that shape our communities.This workshop is open to all skill levels.
What You’ll Do: Participants will be invited to contribute their finished works to be part of an artist book which will serve as an artifact of the workshop series and celebrate the identities of our communities.
What To Bring: Participants would be invited to bring digital or printed family archives, photographs, and memorabilia for inspiration. The workshop would explore personal narrative, place, memory, and other relevant themes.
